How to bleach dye clothes white. Step 1 fill a large bucket with water and bleach, with one part bleach to five parts warm water. Because your white clothes have just been soaked in hot water and bleach, fill your bucket with cold water so you don’t damage your clothes. 100% cotton fabrics are preferred, but cotton blends will also work well. Next, add the garment, and keep things at a low simmer.
